CD purchases

Uploaded by brennx0r.

This weekend I was feeling like I wanted to listen to and build up the selection of rap / hiphop in my music library, so I decided to go with these:

Public Enemy, Fear of a Black Planet: Classic. Had a copy LONG ago, but lost it somehow. Probably in one of the many times I've moved, or through letting a friend "borrow" it.

Lifesavas, Spirit in Stone: I went to a show of theirs when they were playing with Blackalicious, and I remember them being really good. The deal on buying this was sealed in seeing it recommended by a couple friends, and one of the music store's employees.

busdriver, fear of a black tangent: An excellent album that Patrick played for me while we on our way to Quentin's birthday party at Golden Gardens. Busdriver's voice is amazing - it's what made me purchase other side projects like Busdriver w/ Radioinactive and Daedelus's The Weather, another one of my all-time favorite hiphop albums.

Craigslist Scams!

Yesterday I decided that I needed to do some spring cleaning (in July, I know, how incredibly like me) and posted one free item, and one computer item for sale (21" Viewsonic CRT monitor) for $50. Anyhow, got lots of responses about the free item, but not many bites on the monitor. Except one. And it's the most legit message concerning purchase of an item I have ever seen:

my name is jerry lemondrop,i work as a managing director in oil company in UK, in the city of LONDON,I found your item in craigslist and am interested in buying your item,i want to buy it for a client in west africa for is Birthday gift,i will like to pay you an immediately payment through money order via MoneyGram,I love moneygram, moneygram is safe and secure for my transaction, and i want you to know that once you see that payment has been approved that i have paid,That shows that you will recieved the money in 3-5days. You will track your money and see that is on its way after have made the payment to you,i want to send the item urgently to my client who his celebrating is birthday next week.. i will like to pick it up the item through my fedex account..so don't worry about the shipping ok?If you accept my means of payment i want you to send me your full name???and Home address???so i can proceed for thepayment right away.
reply back soonest
Thanks...

How sweet a name is that??!?! Who WOULDN'T wanna buy something from such a sweet name? I'm glad that he has my best interests at heart, with the Moneygram as assurance and all. And he's as sweet as they come in business, I'm sure. Buying gifts for his business friend in "west africa" as a "Birthday gift".

It melts my heart, and I'm speechless. So speechless, in fact, that I don't think I'll ever have the facilties to give him the response he deserves.

funky tomatoes!

Uploaded by brennx0r.

Jer and I took a brief walk to the store to grab stuff for dinner at Madison Market. While there, there were these tomatoes that I just couldn't resist buying. I'm such a sucker, but aren't they just cute as all hell?

Taste good too :)

Jer has started cooking - it's going to be steak with greens. Smells awesome. Hooray for Jer cooking! I love it everytime he does - I wish he'd do it more because his dishes ROCK.

Along the way to Ruby Beach, Jer and I stopped in Port Angeles and ate some lunch . After lunch we checked out this exhibit at the dock of about 10 sculptures, all part of some sort of contest.

This one is nifty.

Ferry Ride!

Uploaded by brennx0r.

This weekend Jer and I went to visit his family at a cabin along Lake Cushman. Got a rental car for the weekend, and decided on Friday to take the Bremerton ferry for part of the trip instead of driving. Man, I'm glad we did. The ferry trip was incredible. :)

If you'd like to view all the photos as a slideshow, go here.

By the way, I've started adding text to photos because I noticed that a couple visitors from stock photo sites hve started visiting the site. If you have any recommendations on watermarking photos, I'd like to any advice concerning the subject :)

I needed to go to the store to grab some butter for some peanut butter chocolate chip cookies I'm making tonight. I thought that I should bring my camera with me, and I'm glad I did. Lots of fun things to capture along the way.

There's this place...

... by our apartment that has wild daisies. Hundreds of them, just growing in the wilds of unkept public plots of land near the sidewalk.

Reminds me of the beginning of Alice in Wonderland where Alice is lost in the daisy field with Dinah, chaining them together into a crown.

Tooling with Blogger

Things are coming together nicely on building layout and information on the blogger page.

Here are some things that have been added:

  • Flickr badge

  • An actual summary of this blog's purpose

  • links to other blogs / sites within the right navigation bar

  • Toggled a Blogger feature that allows anyone to write comments to "ON". Sadly, the default was "Blogger Users Only" or some such noise.

  • Links include Ashley's main website, Petrol's pictures, and Jer's LiveJournal. If you want a link up too, pass it along within the comments for this post and I'll try to put it up.

I'm still a little bit bummed that Picasa doesn't allow for an option to send a batch to a hosted site other than Blogger, but perhaps that feature will come along soon. I'm really getting excited about the prospect of Picasa Templates.(Thanks for the heads up on this, Petrol!)

    Seattle rain

    Uploaded by brennx0r.

It's been nice over the past few days, but today it decided to pour pretty much all day long. Was kinda chilly too, considering that it's July.

It got so bad at one point that the power went out in Jeramey's office building in Queen Anne; most of Queen Anne and Madrona were without power for quite awhile.

After work, I decided to go to the store and take some pictures along the way. By that time, it stopped raining, but some droplets stayed around.

They looked like diamonds sprinkling the leaves - this picture doesn't do what I saw justice.
